As a culminating activity to a unit of study on French speaking Belgium and the European Union , students were treated to a classroom Waffle Bar set up by A Taste of Belgium (a local Cincinnati company owned by a French speaking Belgian from Liege, Belgium). We LOVED the waffles, and students were very deserving of the treat...They worked hard and were successful in meeting the objectives of this content based unit, all in the target language!
Having learned all about Peyo and his Schtroumpfs (Belgian creator of the (French speaking!) smurfs, a couple of students even came to class dressed as these charming characters;-) See our "
